Jewellery Care

Proper care is essential for maintaining the beauty and longevity of your silver jewellery. Here are some expert tips to help you keep your pieces looking their best:

PREVENTING OXIDATION

If your silver jewellery starts to oxidise, don't worry, it's normal and happens over time. If that's not the look you want, use a jewellery cleaner or mild soap and a soft brush to remove tarnish. Buff with a soft cloth to get an even better shine. Remember not to over polish plated objects as you may remove the plating.

AVOIDING CHEMICALS AND EXTREME TEMPERATURES

Limit exposure to chemicals, cleaning products, hand sanitiser, salt water, creams, and perfumes, as these can cause tarnishing or damage. Keep your jewellery away from extreme temperatures, and remove it during activities that might scratch or harm the surface.

PROPER STORAGE

Store your jewellery in a cool, dry place, preferably in a tarnish-resistant pouch or fabric-lined box. This will help prevent tarnish and keep your pieces looking new.

WEARING AND HANDLING

Avoid wearing your jewellery during activities such as cooking, cleaning, gardening, swimming, showering, and sports or gym activities. These activities can expose your jewellery to chemicals, moisture, and rough surfaces, which can cause damage.

ADJUSTING YOUR RINGS

All Late to Work rings are one-size and adjustable. To alter the size of your ring, apply light pressure to bend the metal. This should be done gently and with care, as excessive bending can cause the metal to fatigue and may lead to damage. Continual adjustment of rings can weaken the metal and may result in permanent damage. It's important to treat your ring with care and avoid frequent adjustments. Please note that damage caused by excessive bending or continual adjustment will not be viewed as a product fault.

COSMETICS AND PERFUMES

Apply cosmetics and perfumes before putting on your jewellery, and allow them to dry completely. This will help prevent any chemicals from coming into contact with your jewellery and causing damage.

REGULAR CLEANING

Regularly clean your jewellery with a soft cloth to remove any dirt or residue. This will help maintain its shine and prevent tarnishing.
