Craft, production and practice
At Late to Work, everything begins with intention. We iterate on designs, produce in considered quantities, and choose materials and partners that help us build pieces you’ll wear for years—not just seasons. This page offers a closer look at how your bags and jewellery come to life, and the thinking that guides every stage of the process.
How we produce
Our bags are crafted in Guangzhou, a major manufacturing hub known for its craftsmanship and technical capability. We collaborate with a tight network of trusted partners and family owned factories, visiting regularly to stay connected to development, sampling and ensuring quality expectations are consistently met.
All of our manufacturers are TÜV Rheinland certified, meeting internationally recognised standards for safe, responsible and ethical production. It’s this combination of skill, care and accountability that allows each piece to be made thoughtfully and to the standard we design for.
We also work in small production runs, choosing to make less and make better. Producing this way ensures:
- Less overproduction and waste
- Space to refine each batch
- The ability to introduce new colours and designs responsively
Our materials
Every bag begins with the question: what does this design need? Some silhouettes demand structure, others call for softness or shine. We choose each leather accordingly, working with different types and finishes to achieve the exact feel and drape the design requires.

Packaging, shipping & end-of-life
Each item arrives with its own protective home: dust bags for our leather goods, and soft vegan-suede pouches for jewellery. They’re reusable, long-wearing, and intended to stay with you for the life of the piece.
When you eventually move on from an item, the most meaningful next step is simply keeping it in circulation. Please consider gifting, donating or passing it down to give every piece a life beyond your wardrobe.
