A never-ending adventure: The Amari Backpack

A never-ending adventure: The Amari Backpack

Amari started with a decision.

As we thought about the next phase of Late to Work, it became clear that moving forward meant raising the bar across everything. Quality, detail, and material all had to work harder, not in isolation, but together.

Choosing a higher grade of leather was part of that shift. It changes the equation. It dictates weight, construction, and how much you can afford to add or take away. It doesn’t allow shortcuts.

So with the Amari Backpack, we began there.

This is a bag made for continuity. One that stays with you as your days stretch, shift, and overlap.

Leading with material

The top-grain leather used for Amari was chosen because it sits in a very specific middle ground. Taken from the upper layer of the hide, it retains the natural strength of the leather while allowing the surface to be refined for consistency and durability. In practice, that means it holds its shape, but still has enough give to move with the wearer rather than against them.

Once we committed to that leather, the construction had to follow. Seams were kept purposeful. Stitching was tightened and simplified to support the form without becoming decorative. Extra panels were removed wherever they didn’t materially improve how the bag carried or wore.

The result is a silhouette that doesn’t rely on stiffness to look considered. It holds itself when full, relaxes when it isn’t, and avoids the hard edges that make a bag feel over-designed. It’s made to look right across the span of a day, not just at the moment you leave the house.

An interior for you

Open Amari and the interior reveals a deep red lining. It’s not visible from the outside, and it isn’t meant to be.

This was a deliberate contrast to the exterior. A detail reserved for the moment you open the bag. It adds depth, warmth, and clarity inside, while keeping the exterior composed and understated.

Function follows closely behind. A dedicated laptop compartment sits flat against the back of the bag, keeping devices secure without adding bulk. A small zipped pocket holds essentials that need to stay put. And a full zip top with magnetic flap securely rounds the bag off.

Signature details

On the exterior, a removable metal ring sits at the centre of the bag. It’s a detail that’s become part of our design language.

Clip your keys to it. Attach something personal. Or remove it entirely. It’s there to adapt to you, not the other way around.

At the base of the bag, four metal feet protect the leather where it meets the ground, keeping the bag from wearing down where it’s most likely to make contact with the world.

The long way forward

A never-ending adventure doesn’t mean constant movement or dramatic departures. It’s all in momentum. About carrying what you need and feeling supported as your days unfold.

Amari was made for that pace. Not as a statement, not as a category, but as the bag that becomes part of how you move through the world.
