Smaller bags are often dismissed as impractical. Too limiting. Too considered. Designed more for how they look than how they’re used. But there’s another way to think about scale. Not as a restriction, but as a choice.
There’s a certain ease that comes from not having more than you need. It shows up in small exchanges. A glance held for half a second longer than expected. A brief interaction that lands without effort, then disappears just as easily.
We wanted a bag that allowed the freedom of going out lighter, and through designing the Fromont Bag, we discovered just how good it feels when you stop carrying everything just in case.
In proportion
Fromont is deliberately compact, but not precious. Its proportions were worked and reworked so it’s more capable than its size suggests, without encouraging you to carry more than you need.
The interior is shaped to hold your necessities without excess room or wasted volume. Items sit close rather than shifting around, which keeps the bag feeling tidy even when it’s full.
Leather, up close
A bag of this calibre demanded material to match. Top-grain leather allows for a kind of intimacy without fragility. It lets the bag flex just enough to fit more than expected, while still returning to shape when worn. The leather does the shaping, rather than the construction forcing it.
The details that matter
A double buckle strap adds definition to the rounded silhouette, introducing a subtle edge through hardware rather than structure.
An exterior pocket sits neatly on one face of the bag, featuring a small embossed mark. This is pressed directly into the leather, melting within its natural grain rather than on top of it.
We spend a lot of time thinking about the small things, and hope these details bring a familiar joy to every wear.
